David Canter is Professor of Psychology at the University of Huddersfield and Professor Emeritus at the University of Liverpool, where he founded and directed the Center for Research Psychology for 15 years.
He is one of the few psychologists to be Honorary Members of the British Psychological Association and to be Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, who edits the Academy’s flagship journal, Contemporary Social Science.
Known internationally for his pioneering work in the development of Research Psychology, Canter also has publications on a wide variety of topics in criminal psychology. These include her award-winning book Shadows of Crime and her popular book Solving a Murder.
During his nearly half-century academic career, He has published hundreds of articles and numerous books covering a variety of psychology topics, such as complementary medicine and behavior in emergencies. The current volume includes the last 25 years of experience gained through his involvement in the study of crime and criminals.
