Ideal State

Farabi ‘s Ideal State is the last of his 103 known works and reflects Farabi’s philosophy from all aspects. In the work, the qualities of the First Being, how other beings came into existence, the degrees of beings, their counterparts in organs, the qualities of the person who will rule the city/society functioning like a body, types of cities/society, strengths and weaknesses of each are discussed.

Ahmet Arslan (1944): Graduated from Ankara DTCF Department of Philosophy, became an associate professor in the same department in 1973.
In 1979, he founded the Department of Philosophy at Ege University, Faculty of Letters. He received the title of professor in 1988. He wrote many books and articles on Ancient Greek Philosophy, Medieval Islamic Philosophy and Theology, and Ottoman Theology.
